25th
Anniversary
Get ready,
Pub-ites! The Harbor Pub is gearing up for its 25th Anniversary
Celebration! That's right folks, the Harbor Pub opened it's doors
in August of 1980 and now, 25 years later, we're still going strong.
Help us celebrate this milestone by joining us in August. We're
planning some special events to mark the occasion so stay tuned
to this page for updates and details.
Who is running this
site, anyway?
Yokosuka,
Japan - July
2005
Hi folks... It's been quite awhile since I have updated this
page. And longer since I have added any new photos. Many of
you have written to find out why. Well, the short version is
that I'm not in Hawaii anymore. For the long version, read on...
I
moved to Yokosuka Japan in August of 2004 to work under contract
for the U.S. Navy Far East Command. My job involves building
and supporting a new global computer networking system for the
Navy. It is exciting work that provides new challenges and learning
opportunities every day. I hope to stay in Japan for another
two to three years; expanding my knowledge base and hopefully
transferring to another position with the EuroCent Command.
Naples, Italy and Rota, Spain are just two of the many possibilities.
At my advanced age I never expected to have any more Grand Adventures
yet here I am... I consider myself to be very fortunate indeed.
Living
and working in Japan is both delightful and enigmatic. Just
when I think I have Japan figured out, a new mystery appears
on the horizon. Solving Japan's endless riddles provides many
opportunities for interacting with her people and having new
adventures. In Nature, the islands of Japan are beautiful and
contain much that is unspoiled and undeveloped, in spite of
being one of the world's most densely populated and industrious
countries. In February, I created a photo album video of my
impressions of Japan and sent it as a Valentine to my friends
far away. If you would like to glimpse a slice of life in Japan,

I miss Hawaii
and most especially the Harbor Pub. Occasionally folks send me
pictures and news that i would love to put up on the site if only
I could find the time. The job keeps me very busy and most of
my spare time is devoted to mastering new skills , obtaining IT
certifications, and just trying to keep up with a technology that
grows and changes faster than I do.
Just
keep writing and sending photos... I'll update the site as time
allows.
Mahalo.

Laurie, I just wanted to drop you a line. I'll be back there
for the Pro-Bowl. If you need (want) anything from the mainland,
just drop me a line. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing
you and everyone in about a month.

Thanks for your very informative reply [to our e-mail]; we plan
to stop in and enjoy ourselves. And thanks for the links you
provided (in your email and on your web pages); they are quite
informative. This will be our fourth trip from Pittsburgh to
Honolulu… I'm there to cover the Pro Bowl and Events for
the Pittsburgh Steelers, my wife is there to sunbathe and shop.
See you soon!
Best regards,
Mike and Linda

Hello!
If I go to Hawaii every year, I will surely drop in at
Harbor Pub. I love Harbor Pub like Hawaii. And I begin
all the men that met in Harbor pub, and Jeff, and am thankful
to you, the staff, from the bottom of my heart. This Harbor
Pub is seen and remembered while being unable to go to
Hawaii.
Please send the wind of Hawaii to me through this Harbor
Pub.

Aloha Laurie.
This is Jodie, a previous waitress at the Pub. Remember me?
Great job on the web site! I was dabbling in web design myself...I’m
very impressed with your work. (I know how many hours that took!)
It was great opening the photo gallery and seeing some of the
familiar faces I miss so very much. I hope you and everyone
else are doing great. I check in with Jeff Adomi and Buster
now and then. I can't wait to come back and visit..maybe I’ll
be back to live there somewhere down the line. Take care, and
send my aloha to the regulars…

Well hello all! I just got an email from Emmzie and she finally
sent me all of your email addresses. We're as laid back as you
Hawaiian folk now at getting things done! Sorry I've been such
a disaster at getting in touch. I'm such a disaster with emails
that this is probably the first one I've sent since I was actually
in Hawai'i! Not much news from here… still in college
and have loads of essays to do. I’m trying to cram them
all in now. I’m supposed to be on holidays though, which
kinda sucks!
Emma
and I have our finals in college in May, but the two of us are
going to Spain with some other friends for 10 days at the beginning
of July…we can run riot there for a few days. But I wish
it were Hawaii though!
My
sister is doing one of those round the world trip things with
two of her friends for the summer holidays this year…She’s
gonna be in Oahu for a week, so I'll have to send her down to
meet you guys. Don’t know if I'll be able to persuade
her to carry Irish surprises ‘round Asia for 2 months
before she gets to Hawai'I, but I'll try my best! Anyhows, I
better rock n roll…I hope you folks all had a good PADDY’S
DAY. I don't even remember mine, but I'm sure it was great!!
Love and miss you all…

PS: Let me know when you guys are coming visiting!
